Hi! I'm Tittamari Salonen

I am a versatile designer with a strong background in user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) design, developed through a range of projects, from large-scale initiatives to smaller, more focused assignments. I recently completed my Master’s degree in Human Technology Interaction, gaining extensive experience in UX design during both my studies and professional projects, including UI design work for private clients.

My approach to design is always centered on a deep understanding of user experience, and I have been involved in creating accessible, intuitive, and user-friendly digital services. Figma has been my primary tool for UI design, and I have experience working in international teams, which has helped me build strong communication skills in both Finnish and English. I am passionate about learning new things quickly and constantly seek opportunities to develop my skills further.

As a project designer, I have experience managing projects from the planning stage to implementation, including preparing steering committee meetings and monitoring project progress. I understand the importance of adhering to a project plan but am also flexible and ready to adapt to any changes or challenges that arise. I am used to working closely with various stakeholders and value open and constructive dialogue between different parties.

Spiritus Ludi Smart Sleeve

Spiritus Ludi Smart Sleeve

Spiritus Ludi is a smart sleeve designed to share simultaneous touch for e-sports players and teams, whether they are playing remotely or in the same location. The primary purpose of the sleeve was to allow users to send a small vibration through their sleeve to other team members. Vibration is an effective means of conveying excite-ment and is particularly well-suited for real-time, synchronous communication. The main interaction area for the physical sleeve was the touch area located at forearm near the wrist. Adjacent to the touch area was a haptic motor that vibrated when the user received messages from other players. By pressing the touch area, the user sent one vibration lasting for 200ms for the other members of the team. My part of the project was to design the interaction parts of the sleeve, mainly the responsive parts of the info pad.

Spiritus Ludi App

In addition to the physical sleeve, the system required a mobile application to function. As part of the interaction design, an application was designed to guide the user in using the sleeve and to facilitate connecting the sleeve to the device. My role in the mobile application project was to design the user experience and visual elements. The design process included tasks such as needs assessment (UML, User flow, etc.) as well as creating visual components like colors, fonts, and images. Throughout the implementation, I worked closely with the software developer to ensure that the final product matched the design specifications.

Spritus Ludi App Design

Ripple App

The Ripple mobile application functioned in many ways similarly to Spiritus Ludi. However, the smart sleeve mechanics designed for the project differed, for instance, in the number of haptic motors. In addition to interaction design for the smart sleeve, I was responsible for designing the user experience and UI of the mobile application. So far, I have used Figma in all my design works. You can find the initial interactive prototype of Ripple here: To Figma

Nysse App Changes - University course work

In addition to the projects previously presented, I have worked on numerous design projects, both for university assignments and private clients. One example is the development of usability settings for the Nysse public transport mobile application in Tampere. The goal of this project was to enhance the quality of public transport services, especially from the perspective of sensory-sensitive users. In this project, I contributed to improving the user experience and UI of an existing application.
